GP Extended Access

Patients who are registered at this practice will be able to book an appointment to see a GP in the evenings and at the weekend. Appointments will vary each week as the service is shared around the local St Albans and Harpenden Practices.  Our reception team may offer you an appointment within one of these EA sessions, they will support you in making the most appropriate and speediest appointment available.  these EA sessions are run by local GPs and details of your consultation will be available to our team here when you next come to see us.

As a member of St Albans and Harpenden Federation (STAHFED) we are undertaking to offer this additional services as part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and to get the best possible outcome for patients. These appointments are especially beneficial to those patients who find daytime appointments difficult.

This service is additional to our normal core weekday hours and is managed by STAHFED and commissioned by Herts Valley Clinical Commissioning Group (HVCCG).

By accepting one of these appointments you are consenting to your name and date of birth to be shared with these groups for monitoring purposes.  No clinical data is shared with either STAHFED or HVCCG.

Please note that this service is not a walk in service – you need to make an appointment. For urgent matters you should call 111 or for life threatening complaints dial 999.  During Saturday opening our phone lines will be closed and continue to be monitored by Herts Urgent Care & the 111 team.
